For upgrading to the Real Estate Broker License

The Broker Program

Looking to be your own boss? Get everything you need to be eligible to take the California Real Estate Broker Exam. A broker license gives you all the benefits of a salesperson license and much more, so take control of your real estate career now with the Broker Program.

Courses Overview

Please note the following for taking the courses:

  • Each course comes with an online textbook, quizzes and final exam, which are available in the Student Portal after purchase.
  • There’s a DRE-mandated 18 day minimum study period for each course, from the day you receive the course material.
  • Each course’s exam is online, with 100 multiple choice questions and 100 minute time limit. You must achieve a minimum grade of 60% to pass the course. The exam is open book.
  • If you do not pass the final exam on the first try, the DRE permits one re-take immediately. Be aware that the questions on the re-take exam will be completely different from the questions on the original final exam. A second failure would require you to complete the instructional portion of the course again and wait 18 calendar days before being allowed to take the final exam again.
  • Once all courses are passed, a certificate will be emailed to you showing all courses completed.
  • All courses must be completed within 1 year of purchase date. If you do not complete all of the courses in your program within one year, re-enrollment for another year would be required at the full course fee.
  • It is your responsibility to follow up with the DRE to apply for a broker license.

Important Notice

All individuals submitting an application to take the salesperson or broker license examination received by the Department on or after January 1, 2024 will be affected by Senate Bill 1495 (SB 1495). SB 1495, which becomes effective January 1, 2024, makes changes to the real estate practice course that must be completed by all eligible applicants for licensure. More specifically, SB 1495 requires that this real estate practice course include the following content:

  • A component on implicit bias, including education regarding the impact of implicit bias, explicit bias, and systemic bias on consumers, the historical and social impacts of those biases, and actionable steps students can take to recognize and address their own implicit biases.

  • A component on federal and state fair housing laws as those laws apply to the practice of real estate. The fair housing component shall include an interactive participatory component, during which the applicant shall role play as both a consumer and real estate professional.

Charlie Krackeler Presents' Real Estate Practice course is in compliance with SB 1495.  The DRE will accept the CKP Real Estate Practice course in this package as it is in compliance with SB 1495!
